Meet Your Counsellor
Welcome to The Countryside Counsellor. I'm Layla, an integrative counsellor, which means I tailor sessions to your individual needs, drawing from a range of approaches to support your personal growth. At the heart of my practice is a psychodynamic foundation, which explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be influencing your present life. Working together in a calm, rural setting, is a safe, confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

Face-to-face counselling sessions offer a personal and supportive environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts, emotions, and challenges. This in-person setting allows for non-verbal communication, such as body language and facial expressions, to be observed and understood, something I feel can enhance the depth of the therapeutic connection. Face-to-face sessions provide a safe, confidential space for self-exploration, problem-solving, and emotional healing, contributing to personal growth and improved mental well-being.
Online counselling sessions provide a convenient and accessible way for you to receive mental health support from the comfort of your own home. Using secure video connection via WhatsApp, you can access your online counselling sessions, eliminating the need for travel. This mode of counselling can be especially beneficial for people living in remote areas or those who feel more comfortable opening up in a familiar environment. Despite the physical distance, online sessions still allow for meaningful communication, trust-building, and emotional support, offering an effective alternative to traditional in-person counselling.
In addition to more traditional counselling methods, I also offer a walk and talk service, making the most of the beautiful Suffolk countryside. For some, sitting face-to-face in a traditional counselling setting can feel overwhelming or intense. Walking side by side in nature can create a more relaxed atmosphere, helping you feel at ease and less pressured. If desired, my friendly Labrador is happy to join us, many clients find his presence comforting and grounding. This approach provides an opportunity to disconnect from daily distractions and experience the therapeutic benefits of movement and the natural environment.
